How long does a landlord have to return the deposit?

The time limit depends on local law, often between 14 and 60 days after move-out. Check the rule for your area.

What details do I need to fill in for the security deposit receipt?

The form asks for Landlord, Tenant, Property Address, Deposit Amount, Date Received and Payment Method. Receipt number, Where the deposit is held and Return conditions are optional and can be left blank.
